11/10 to 11/16: Man LARPing as Woman Heads Endometriosis Charity, Sexual Assault Rampant in Ministry of Defence
And many great commentaries to fill your weekend reading!
Call to Action
(UK) Ban sites selling commercial sex, removing a platform that allows sexual exploitation to proliferate.
Erasing Women, LGB, and Their Spaces
11/16 - Michigan prison officers protest new strip-search policy for transgender inmates
We talk a lot about the dangers female inmates face when incarcerated alongside male inmates. Here is an article about the dangers faced by female correctional officers tasked with working with trans-identifying male inmates.
There’s a piece below that I’ve labeled “counterpoint” in the commentary section. It’s a dude’s idea for a compromise in the trans debate, and his idea is to sometimes consider men as women and sometimes not (so productive, I know…). It’s made me think, though, what about changing how companies do quotas? Why not keep trans people in their own category, or at least the LGB/TQ category, so that a company can specifically target that population when the company wants to show how woke it is? Can we overcome these unending “gender rows” if companies separate initiatives to boost engagement of women versus separate initiatives to boost engagement of TQ?
11/12 - Narcissistic Asshole Man Appointed as CEO of Charity for Endometriosis
If you’re in the mood for raging, here is the justification by the charity’s founder.
Silencing Girls, Women, and Allies
11/15 - Feminist artist’s guest lecture canceled for speaking out against transgender ideology
Besides the fact that it’s wrong for an academic institution - a place meant to foster rich discourse and exploration of multiple perspectives - to censor WrongThink opinions, why do these universities do such a poor job vetting guest speakers? Obviously these institutions shouldn’t censor any opinion, but, jeez Louise, at least check before you extend an invitation to someone that you’re okay with who that person is. Here is response by Nina Paley, the artist.
11/12 - Newcastle United fan has club membership suspended while police investigated tweets on trans women
In many ways, the UK is way ahead of other countries (specifically the US and Canada) when it comes to pumping the brake on gender ideology. And that’s awesome! At the same time, that the government allows people to be investigated by police for having “offensive” opinions is straight up dystopian. And the fact that the repercussions of police intervention mean things like being prohibited from going to a soccer game is insane.
11/10 - Sorority Ousts Two Members Who Backed Suit Over Trans Sister [sic]
This is why so many women would rather keep their heads down and obey than challenge gender ideology.
Males in Female Sports
Shoutout to Alexandra Cunha! As scary as it is to put ourselves in the line of fire, we can never beat gender ideology if we don’t stand up and directly challenge it. And when YOU stand up, it inspires other women to do the same. See Lynne Pinches refusing to play against a trans-identified male pool player, too, forfeiting the competition.
Reproductive Rights
11/10 - Ohio GOP lawmakers call to block courts from implementing new abortion amendment
Hopefully all political posturing. Republicans have surely learned their lesson by now.
Sexual Exploitation and Offenses
In addition to assaults, male workers are accused of doing such juvenile things as maintaining a spreadsheet that ranks their female colleagues by attractiveness.
The “sex work is work” crowd really need to be forced to read articles like this every day until they rethink their position. Indentured servitude is work, but no one in their right mind should defend that.
News Impacting Society and Children
11/16 - South Burlington School District discusses proposed transgender and nonbinary policy
This story comes out Vermont in the US. Seriously, are these trans radical activists built in a factory and then planted in every school?
It’s absolutely wild witnessing the latest crisis of ethics unfold in the medical field. I remember being taught about things like the Tuskegee experiment and the Nuremberg code, and thinking, “how could the cruelty of these events have been overlooked by medical professionals, supposedly some of the smartest people among us?” And now here we are in the 21st century, chopping up and rearranging the body parts of mentally ill people like they’re Frankenstein.
11/11 - Law firm for detransitioners opens in Dallas
Whoever could have seen this coming in the ultra litigious US?
Once again, literal children are proving to be some of the most courageous challengers of gender ideology.
Beyond the West
11/15 - Gender disparity in Indian organ transplants: 4 in 5 living donors women, 4 in 5 recipients men
The headline is pretty self-explanatory.
11/14 - Japan: Women Seriously Abused in Prisons
This is not at all unlike the ethical issues in the American criminal justice system. In Japan, people can be imprisoned for infractions like possessing small amounts of illegal drugs. When women are imprisoned, they are vulnerable to all forms of abuse by prison staff and other inmates. Also like the US, pregnant women and mothers of small children are precluded from parenting their children, as the country does not consider alternatives to prison like suspended sentences. Full report here.
