April 26 to May 2: NHS says sex is science, HIPAA protects out-of-state abortions
A week with several wins, for once!
Call to Action
Candidates of Kellie-Jay Keen’s Party of Women in the UK can use some support (volunteer time, donations). If you are sympathetic to the cause and would like to see the party grow in legitimacy, here’s an opportunity for activism.

April 30 - Sex is biological fact, NHS declares in landmark shift against gender ideology
At long last! This has proven to have immediate and meaningful impact, too - no more use of dehumanizing and confusing terms like “people who give birth” AND patients are entitled to receive same-sex care and be placed in same-sex wards. This is 100% part of “the Cass Effect,” i.e. the response of institutions to Dr. Hilary Cass’ comprehensive review of the medically unsound practice of “gender-affirming care” in minors.
Erasing Women, LGB, and Their Spaces
May 1 - Breastfeeding charity suspends trustees who want to ban trans women from its services
I know we each have some organization or public figure who we were especially shocked and saddened to see succumb to gender ideology. For me, the capture of La Leche League (LLL) was a gut punch. Breastfeeding is so, so, so beneficial for both mothers and their babies. It’s a practice that, surprisingly, is not intuitive, and women need and deserve to have support around this uniquely female function. LLL’s refusal to call mothers “mother” and women “women” delegitimizes the cause.
April 30 - Walters urges Oklahoma schools to ignore new Biden administration Title IX rules
State Superintendent of Oklahoma Ryan Walters is directing schools in his state to ignore Biden’s Title IX rule changes that go in effect August 1st. It’s a risky gamble, as many schools rely on federal funding for their operations. And yet, Walters is right that the rule changes are likely to face fierce challenges in court that may pause the changes (if not squash them altogether) before they take effect. The governor of Arkansas has given the same direction to schools in her state.

Silencing Girls, Women, and Their Allies
The US seems to be about a decade behind the UK on how it handles gender ideology in its institutions. We’re hopeful that, in due time, gender critical women who have lost their jobs over their beliefs will be vindicated through the courts just as they have across the Atlantic.
April 28 - Social worker suspended over gender critical views awarded £58,000
We covered the headline about this lawsuit in a past post, and here’s the update with Ms. Meade’s award. To be fair to employers, they do have a tricky balance to maintain between protecting a group that governments have identified as a vulnerable minority population (the trans clan) while also protecting the rights of others to freely express their beliefs without those beliefs being labeled as 'hate' for conflicting with the ideology of the protected group.
Males in Female Sports
May 2 - Students who protested playing against transgender athlete can continue to compete, rules judge
You may remember the headline from two weeks ago about five girls who stepped out a track and field event in protest of a trans “girl” 🥸 winning a lawsuit to compete in the girls’ category. These protesting middle schoolers were then banned from competing at all for their stand against injustice. Well, a judge has now ruled that it violates their free speech to be banned from competition. There is a decent chance that this case will continue to escalate in court, but it’s a clear victory for now. And, with the state behind them, these girls are likely to continue to have their right to free expression protected.
For real, though, who are these dudes trying to impress at this point? The teeny tiny minority of other trans ideology zealots? Are they so narcissistic that they just love seeing their names in headlines, even when those headlines are calling negative attention to their outrageous behavior?
April 29 - Parkrun to delete runners’ statistics as it prepares to double down in record row
What is the deal with Parkrun organizers? Not only do they refuse to separate runners by sex, but now they’re straight up taunting their critics with a move making it impossible to look up runners’ profiles unless those runners specifically “friend” you on the organization’s website.
Sexual Assault and Exploitation
May 2 - SA votes down Nordic model sex work reform by single vote
One of the groups opposing the bill, Sex Industry Network (SIN ← that’s their chosen acronym, not me being punny), is funded by SA Health, a public health organization for South Australia. I’m curious who the “leading representatitives” of SIN are, but their site does not contain this information. Not even the names of its board members. We can probably take a guess at their politics by the fact that site visitors are immediately greeted by a land acknowledgement pop-up.
April 30 - Supreme Court leaves in place a Texas law requiring pornographic websites to verify users’ ages
Here in this clown world, American conservatives have accidentally become some of the most effective defenders of women on a (very, very) few select issues.
Reproductive Rights
May 2 - ‘Resist the state’: activists teach Floridians to ‘self-manage’ abortions in wake of ban
When some women inevitably are injured or killed from taking matters in their own hands, will pro-lifers give a damn?
April 28 - Medical records for out-of-state abortions will now be protected by HIPAA
Medical practitioners are no longer compelled to share with law enforcement records of women who have sought termination of their pregnancies.
News Impacting Society and Children
May 2 - School reported parents of ‘trans’ child to social services
This happened four years ago in the UK, and the happy news is that, despite it occurring way before the Cass report, social services was sympathetic to the parents. Still, this article is a great reminder of just how far the ideological capture of schools had gone (and persists in many schools).
May 1 - Psychotherapy body rows with trans activists over conversion therapy memo
Yet another organization has taken the findings of the Cass report seriously. This time its the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), who have revised their stance on “conversion therapy” to allow room for mental health professionals to engage in exploratory therapy with children experiencing gender dysphoria. This is a big step in ending the practice of fast tracking children to a medical transition.
April 29 - Gender-neutral lavatories are more dirty than men's and women's toilets, new study claims
To the surprise of absolutely no one. Not only because women’s bathrooms are generally cleaner, but also because many more people use the gender neutral ones. But maybe we should at least be thankful for gender neutral bathrooms when women and those with physical disabilities have to fight to have any place to pee in public in some places.
April 27 - Males Who “Feel Safer” With Females Allowed To Bunk With Minor Girls At Portland-Area Outdoor School
This is basically the same argument that Trans Rights Activists make for moving trans-identifying men 🥸 to women’s prisons. But how far does their argument go? Should gay men and boys, who may feel vulnerable around their straight peers, be allowed in female single-sex spaces? Should short and scrawny straight men and boys, who may be bullied by their stronger peers, also have this option?
Beyond the West
This article covers activist Zahra Joya, who created the news agency Rukhshana Media to highlight the issues that affect Afghani women as a result of the nation’s takeover by the Taliban. My question is: what can we do? This is a situation that we know is a horror beyond words, and I wish there was more organization in the West around finding actionable ways to help our sisters in other nations whose violent subjugation is literally written in law.
Entertainment
In all fairness, his “I support all LGBT people, and don’t want to say anymore than that” feels like him taking an itty bitty step forward.
