I wrote both text and email to Ulta corporate headquarters yesterday complaining about their obnoxious ad campaign. I told them they're belittling and caricaturing women and that I would never buy another product from them again and would urge everyone I know to do likewise.
Had an extended text exchange with one of their reps, which I'll screenshot and post on my Substack later today. In the meantime, everyone out there can contact them, too. You'd think they would've learned from the Anheuser-Busch beer debacle. Apparently not. Let's extend this boycott and let them know:
Ulta emailed back v promptly with sentiments of inclusion, to which I responded:
“Inclusion” is an interesting concept. Often when you include people in the wrong category (eg 28yr olds in a race for 6yr olds), you disadvantage the people for whom the protected category was established. Consequently inclusion of some leads to the exclusion of others and the erasure of their rights.
I would suggest that by “including” a man who places himself in the wrong category of she you exclude women who can see with their own eyes that this is a man horrendously impersonating a humiliating version of womanhood .
We are excluded. And it’s women who are mainly buying your products.
Many, many women are utterly fed up with the constant sexualisation and parodic stereotyping of women by men.
In the name of “inclusion” you wouldn’t tolerate a white person dressing up as a person of colour, calling themselves black and making them look ridiculous.

No - you would rightly call it out as racism.
So why do you not only tolerate this constant humiliating representation of “Women” by men, but actively seek and promote it?

This should have been every woman's response - ala Riely Gaines - to every incursion of the male perverts in make-up and dresses. Be it sports, government, business, retail, healthcare, private spaces, etc.
My hope is women have woken to the fact that voices matter - and voices in great numbers is the only thing that will whip these for-profit actors, back to neutral and moral grounds.
Every single woman who can define "what a woman is" and who does not want themselves or their daughter supplanted by these perverted, narcissistic destroyers, should follow your lead, drop what they are doing and write their own letter of condemnation. Tell them by the tens of millions that they have lost your business forever and you will work tirelessly to put them out of business.
This is a war, this is a cancer you are fighting. You don't do it halfway. You don't win it by making nice when they say, "oh sorry, here's a coupon code". You crush them and then salt the earth, where they once stood, because like a cancer, if left uncheck, untreated and in place it will come back stronger - and its only intent is to kill you.

I did clinic defense for them with my service fraternity in college. I was the Nursing major who took my classmates from West Chester University to the clinic on Wsyne Street. I was at Blackwell in Philadelphia when Operation Rescue hit in the early '90s, in fact the Religious Sister of Mercy CNO of my Hospital saw me on the News (that was not a fun elevator ride!). For YEARS I gave monthly via automatic withdrawals to Planned Parenthood! I have been an Obstetric Nurse for decades plus, women's health, contraception and sex education is dear to my heart and Margaret Sanger has always been a Shero to me.
This is where I was when I learnt that Planned Parenthood gives out cross-sex hormones like a Pez dispenser. I am particularly disgusted that they give cross-sex hormones to children. Transitioning gender-non-conforming children is sexist, premature, and PROFOUNDLY HOMOPHOBIC. Never mind unsound practice and that Testosterone is a KNOWN teratogen. I will NEVER GIVE Planned Parenthood ANOTHER RED CENT.
