May 17 to 23: A step forward in breast cancer prevention, a step back in access to contraception
And a mrmenno video!
Call to Action
Join a discussion around the impact of gender ideology on women and children, featuring Meghan Murphy, April Hutchinson, Bryony Dixon, and Kellie-Linn Pirie as panelists. The event takes place May 30th in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Use your voice to show the Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) that the changes to Title IX go against the very group for which the DWC claims to advocate, women and girls. There’s strength in numbers, and expressing your concern to the DWC is how we show that we will not stand for the promotion of gender ideology in law.
Highlighting Women and Women’s Issues
May 22 - Moe Mountains: Women's backpacking group leading summer trip exclusively for women 50 and up
Here’s a cool opportunity to come together in sisterhood for a chill, non-political hangout!
May 22 - Barbie collection honors Venus Williams and other women athletes
On the one hand, I hate cheering corporate pandering. But on the other hand, it’s hard not to be happy to see some of the greatest female athletes of our times honored—especially given the concerted effort by a certain group of men-who-deny-being-men who think it’s totally reasonable for them to compete alongside women.
May 19 - Sarah Harding breast cancer research project is successfully identifying at-risk young women
For young women in the UK, Sarah Harding’s dying wish to decrease the incidence of early breast cancer death means that women at heightened risk have access to preventive care. Here is another article that goes into more detail about how this preventive care saves lives.
Accounts of historical wars typically highlight men and the sacrifices that men made to serve their countries, but women have played integral roles in supporting war efforts as well. This article highlights two nurses, Mollie Evershed and Anyta Field, who sacrificed their lives to save their patients aboard a sinking ship.
Erasing Women, LGB, and Their Spaces
May 22 - Holding a judge accountable for permitting a rapist into a women’s prison (from @Riley_Gaines_)
And it’s Ted Cruz, of all people, saying what needs to be said.
The pushback among members of the general public is just getting started.
May 21 - Sturgeon trans ally’s answer to gender critical women: Fire the terfs
This guy, Mridul Wadhwa 🥸, keeps popping back up in headlines, seemingly under scrutiny on the press. We can only hope that this is a sign of the slow downfall of his career. Here’s Julie Bindel’s take on Mr. Wadhwa.
There’s got to be some solution for meeting people of gender halfway. I’ve seen job applications where there’s a space for the applicant to enter if she has a preferred name. Why not use a space like that, which the vast majority of women can just ignore and skip over, to allow the people of gender to proclaim their super special identities? That workaround also stops these organizations from conflating sex (very consequential and immutable biological fact) and gender identity (inconsequential philosophical idea of oneself).
May 18 - Number of charities using ‘queer’ in their names surges
If you ask me, this is a cynical way for organizations to increase the numbers of participants in their programs. “Queer” has such a broad definition that just about anybody who doesn’t consider themselves stereotypically hetereosexual—including young people who are still figuring out who they are—can identify as such.
Silencing Girls, Women, and Their Allies
May 23 - Medical experts are unwilling to give evidence in gender cases
It’s not clear from this article if the medical experts afraid to testify lean sympathetic versus critical of trans “medicine.” Still, this article speaks to the larger issue of how ideology and politics have undue influence over those working in science and law.
May 23 - Rosie Duffield takes swipe at Starmer after being excluded from Labour event
Duffield, a gender critical Labour MP for Canterbury, expresses her frustration around being cold-shouldered by her party.
At a Let Women Speak rally, one woman shared how her view of gender ideology shifted after a terrifying experience at the hands of man calling himself a woman.
May 17 - WoLF: “The Fight is Not Over: Next Steps in CHANDLER V. CDCR”
The Eastern District Court of California has dismissed WoLF’s lawsuit challenging Senate Bill 132, a bill allowing trans-identifying men to be incarcerated alongsinde women. The Court ruled that the Eleventh Amendment protects the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) from being a defendant in the lawsuit.
Males in Female Sports
May 20 - Trans Athlete Who Won Junior Olympics Race in Cashmere Sparks Backlash
Another loser boy taking awards from girls.
May 19 - Editorial: OSAA Policy on Trans Athlete Participation Falls Short on 'Safe' and 'Fair'
I like that this editorial is written in a way to argue why it’s not in the best interest of trans-identifying male 🥸 competitors, either, to participate in girls’ and women’s sports. Anyway, enjoy this video of the loser male athlete in question getting booed when his name is announced as the champion.
May 17 - New rules for transgender participation
In short, the World Sailing Council says that if you’re a man who has gone through puberty, you cannot participate in the female sports category. If you’re a woman who calls herself a man and wants to compete in the male category, go ahead.
Sexual Assault and Exploitation
May 23 - Hedge Funds’ Pornhub Loans Aided Sex-Trafficking, Suit Says
I’m cautiously optimistic that the pendulum is swinging back on the acceptance of pornography. Pornhub keeps getting hit by lawsuits, and this is a new suit that is targeting Big Money that supported the company. Other hopeful signs? More science devoted to revealing the risks associated with porn consumption, and, in the US at least, more state governments attempting to curb minors’ access to pornography.
May 19 - ‘More like therapists’: adult virgins turn to Nevada brothels for sex – and healing
I’m not gonna lie - the prostitution and pornography headlines that we cover are the ones that gut me the most, as someone who was drawn into the sex industry as a teen. The argument against prostitution is simple: human bodies must not be for sale. And the women who promote sex trafficking and run brothels, like the ghoul who is subject of this article, deserve no more sympathy than the male pimps and johns who perpetuate the industry.
May 19 - Colorado mom tackles alleged peeping Tom outside department store dressing room
This is definitely an argument against co-ed fitting rooms in clothing stores. It’s also an argument in favor of learning techniques to be a badass and kick ass when threatened.
Sex Discrimination and Prejudice
May 21 - My pelvis snapped during childbirth and nobody realised for a week
This is horrifying. And there are far, far too many stories like this where pregnant or post-partum women try to speak up about symptoms, only to be dismissed by their medical providers. In fact, it seems it’s just kind of par for the course for women in the medical setting. And in the realm of mental health residential care, menstruating women and girls face distinct indignities.
Reproductive Rights
May 23 - Democrats go on offense as the GOP opens the door to birth control restrictions
So, so stupid. If you’re going to argue against the termination of a pregnancy, you should be arguing in favor of free and accessible contraception to prevent unintended and unwanted pregnancies.
May 23 - Louisiana designates abortion pills as controlled substances
Of course we’re bothered by the fact that there are governments deadset on limiting the autonomy of women. But we should also be bothered by the fact that, in the face of major challenges the public must confront, like an increasingly insurmountable cost-of-living crisis, our elected officials choose to prioritize writing bills that roll back reproductive rights instead.
News Impacting Society and Children
Crazy that “news” like this is still headline-worthy. Yes, gender dysphoria is a symptom of severe and persistent mental disorders. The sooner we acknowledge this fact that has come to light multiple times through both trans-friendly and neutral research, the sooner we can adequately treat individuals suffering from this form of distress.
If successful, this will just about shut the door on the transing of children in Great Britain.
May 21 - Body Integrity Dysphoria (BID): What it is and why Catholics need be aware of it
This is actually more of an opinion/commentary piece, but I’m including it up here because it’s worth noting that it appears at least one institution, the Catholic church, is wary of capture by gender ideology.
Says the school district, a student expressing their mental health challenges to school staff “does not authorize school staff to disclose [that student’s] information to others.” Parents aren’t exactly random “others,” though, are they? They should be a participant in, or at least aware of, any mental health treatment that their child receives.
Labour, like the Democrats in the US, continue to pander to the tiniest but loudest demographic in their respective nations, pursuing changes in law that creat needless controversy. Meanwhile, in Scotland, politicians got to hear about the true horrors of kids with mental health challenges being fast-tracked down the trans medicalization path.
May 18 - Why the Equal Rights Amendment Is Again a Hot Topic in New York
The ERA is a hot topic because there’s a bigass conflict in rights between those of women and those of trans-identifying men 🥸. Democrats in the state, however, would rather plug their ears and ignore the pleas of the majority of their constituents in the interest of ideology.
May 17 - Some Conservative Christians Are Stepping Away From the Gender Wars
It makes sense. Ultra-religious, God-fearing people are particularly vulnerable to accepting an explanation for their homosexual or sexually deviant family member that doesn’t cast the family member in a “sinful” light.
May 17 - Google delists sites selling private trans hormones following UK government request
Google not bending to the will of Trans Rights Activists?? Color me surprised! This is a sensical decision given that the administration of any prescription medicine should be overseen by medical professionals, not dodgy activists.
Beyond the West
May 21 - Hundreds of hostages, mostly women and children, are rescued from Boko Haram extremists in Nigeria
The brutality of man.
Entertainment
May 21 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake Restores A Party Member's Trans Identity
More not-so-subtle attempts by The Powers That Be to try and normalize this crap through slipping it into media.
May 21 - Daniel Radcliffe & The Well of Willful Ignorance
If you have half an hour, this is a great analysis of the origins of trans ally support. And if you have more than half an hour, you should go thorugh more of mrmenno’s video library because he’s fantastic.
