Good News for Women
2/24/23 - Fed up with bars that wouldn't play women's sports, she opened one that plays nothing but
Out in Portland, Oregon, Jenny Nguyen has started a sports bar that plays only women’s sports! This is a cool and inspring story that demonstrates how we can create the change that we want to see in the world.
Erasing Women and Women’s Spaces
3/2/23 - For International women's day Hershey's "Her for she" - where he is a she (2023) (Canada)
In Canada Hershey’s is celebrating International Women’s Day by highlighting influential women through artwork on their chocolate wrappers. One of these women is a man LARPing as a woman. People are rightfully upset about this.

2/27/23 - Donors Pledge $55 Million for Smithsonian’s New Museum of American Women
There’s going to be a museum dedicated to great women in American history. Yay! The museum will feature trans-identified men in American history. Boo!
2/26/23 - Transgender prisoners convicted of violence to be banned from women’s jails
Good news: The UK’s Ministry of Justice has announced that trans-identifying men guilty of sexual assaults and/or violent crimes will not be permitted in women’s carceral facilities without special approval. It appears the clusterf*ck in Scotland had a positive impact afterall, as it’s inspired the UK government to adopt a gender critical stance. As a reminder why this protection is so important, here’s an article where a prisoner shares her encounter with a trans-identifying man in the facility where she was housed.
2/24/23 - Kansas Senate Passes First Bill Defining ‘Woman’ As A Biological Female
Good news: Kansas is pushing through a law that legally defines women and men based on scientific knowledge of sex. Democrats and trans allies argue that the bill threatens trans people and women, but the criticisms presented only highlight the “threats” to trans people (e.g. no more snaking their way into women’s sports).
Silencing Women
2/27/23 - BREAKING: University bans Trans and Non-Binary Liberation Officer from protesting on campus
Here’s a positive article about a Trans Rights Activist facing consequences for being a bully. The trans-identified man disrupted a showing of Adult Human Female on campus at the University of Edinburgh last December, and he is under criminal investigation for his behavior. The school has responded appropriately by prohibiting the man from being within 200 feet of ANY protest on ANY subject on campus.
Okay, so this article is mostly about the silencing (through suspension) of male prosecutor Shea Shanna, but the article also shines lights of the opinions of the victims of the trans-identified man attempting to game the justice system. One victim quoted points out how James “Hannah” Tubbs wants to be tried in court as a woman now, but he certainly was not acting as a woman when he committed his sex crimes.
Males in Female Sports
2/28/23 - 'A huge win': Minnesota judge rules USA Powerlifting can't bar trans athletes
“A huge win” for men with unchecked fetishes and untreated mental illness.
Add Ms. Spratlen Etem to our list of (s)heroes fighting to protect women’s sports. Spratlen Etem is one of only two black Americans to compete in rowing in the Olympics. She argues persuasively about the barriers boys and men create for girls women when they infiltrate female sports.

This piece highlights the work of Linda Blade, who has spearheaded the growing campaign to protect the women’s category of sports.
Reproductive Rights
2/26/23 - Louisiana anti-abortion group calls on doctors to stop denying care exempted by ban
Louisiana Right to Life has, shockingly, condemned doctors for taking the abortion ban in Louisiana too seriously! After one woman, Kaitlyn Joshua, nearly died following a miscarriage, the group came forward to implore medical providers to continue to offer abortions in cases that are legal to do so. Speaking for the anti-abortion organization, Sarah Zagorski acknowledged that Louisiana has one of the highest incidences of maternal mortality in the USA. It’s on doctors, she says, to be better educated on what kinds of procedures will send them to jail versus which ones are acceptable.
Beyond the West
2/27/23 - Burned, suffocated, beaten: why women in Lebanon are dying at the hands of their partners
This thoughtful piece covers the appalling prevalence of domestic violence in Lebanon, and discusses some of the determinants (like economic stress) that aggravate the problem.
News Impacting Society and Children
I personally hate sharing news stories about this asshole because he clearly loves the attention. But for those of you curious what, if anything, is being done about him, here you go.
2/28/23 - 1 in 4 Black transgender and nonbinary youth attempted suicide in past year, survey finds
Contrary to what this article argues, self-harm and suicidal ideation among trans people is not a distinct public health issue. People with mental illness have always been a higher risk for self-harm and suicide, and it’s the mental illness piece that needs to be addressed in these individuals. You don’t help someone cope by encouraging their self-destructive beliefs.
A nice thing about The Daily Mail is that their headlines succinctly summarize an article.
2/27/23 - The scientific revolt against gender ideology has begun
We don’t want to count our chickens before they hatch, but we agree that it’s a hopeful sign that researchers are speaking in objective truth rather than contorting themselves to defend an indefensible ideology. This is especially true in parts of Europe, but it feels like the atmosphere is becoming a bit less hostile to truth in North America as well.
2/27/23 - School suspends sex education after drag queen 'told 11-year-olds there are 73 genders'
This headline barely scratches the surface. The personal, social, health, economic (PSHE) curriculum in Isle of the Man schools in the UK has instructed teachers to teach their young students such topics as how sex “change” operations work and how to masturbate. Literally WTF is going on in Western schools?!
Side note: I really hate that The Daily Mail has become one of few papers to reliably report on the spread of gender ideology without actively promoting it. That said, this is a handy article that summarizes the legal battles we can expect this year in the US as gender ideology is challenged through policy. One statistic that jumps out is from a small survey of 1000 adults in the US: the majority of these Americans - 61% - oppose “gender-affirming care” for children while only 21% agree with the practice. This would suggest that, unlike how the mainstream media portrays it, trans skepticism is not some fringe, extremist belief.
2/23/23 - Kaiser Permanente Sued Over Hormone Therapy
Prominent detransitioner Chloe Cole, the 18 year old who was transed with cross-sex hormones and top surgery starting at 13 years old, is suing California-based healtchare company Kaiser for medical malpractice. Cole and her legal team argue that doctors oversold “gender-affirming care” versus discussing alternatives like psychotherapy.
Entertainment
Well, this explains a lot.
Popular opinion won, sigaling yet again a turn of the tide. Vimeo backtracked its removal of thoughtful documentary Affirmation Generation following outrage at the attempted censorship.
