Good News for Women
4/12/23 - New Harry Potter TV series announced from Max and Warner Bros Discovery
This is a link to Queen Rowling’s own website that goes into more detail about the announcement—including the fact that JK Rowling herself will serve as Executive Producer of the show!
Erasing Women and Women’s Spaces
I don’t even know what to file this one under… It’s a funny story: sad, sex-obsessed men lusting after a “woman” that turned out to be generated by artificial intelligence. But it also doesn’t bode well for the innovative ways that technology will continue to turn men into sex-obsessed horndogs who lack the skills to interact with actual women and also make beauty standards even more unrealistic for girls and women.
4/7/23 - Nike uses Dylan Mulvaney as the face of their women’s apparel
And some familiar faces have strong opinions about it. As Sharron Davies points out, this is happening as ~1% of sports sponsorships go to women in the United States. Nike has chosen to double down anyway. Here The Daily Mail covers how Nike has let down female athletes in the past. And here is an interesting article that offers a reason for why brands keep pulling this stunt. And here is one more article about the short-term repercussions that Anheuser-Busch (Bud Light parent company) has experienced since promoting this TikTok grifter.
Silencing Women and Their Allies
4/11/23 - No Pseudonymity for Sorority Members Suing to Challenge Sorority's Admission of Transgender Student
Sorority members are suing their sorority organization for admitting a trans-identified man. Why is this in the “Silencing” section of our newsletter? Because a judge just ruled that the sorority members are not allowed to pursue their case using pseudonyms to protect themselves from harassment by Trans Rights Activists. One of the tools of TRAs is to intimidate people from expressing gender critical views by ruining the lives of outspoken critics as a warning to anyone else who may want to speak out.
Swimmer Riley Gaines, an outspoken critic of allowing trans-identified men to compete in the women’s category of sports, was threatened and attacked by a mob of Trans Rights Activists when she went to speak at San Francisco State University. Not so shockingly, the school decided to back the violent activists rather than their intended victim. Nobody asked for Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner’s opinion, but he has one, too. And here and here are Riley (somewhat sloppily) calling out soccer superstar Megan Rapinoe for allying with Trans Rights Activists.

4/10/23 - Drug Company Leaders Condemn Ruling Invalidating F.D.A.’s Approval of Abortion Pill
We are no fans of Big Pharma by any means. But we also acknowledge that corporate interests are majorly impactful to leadership in the US. There is a good chance that Big Pharma pleading against a ban on mifepristone, a progesterone-blocker that prevents a pregnancy from continuing to develop, may influence politicians.
Males in Female Sports
4/7/23 - Biden Plan for Transgender Title IX Protections Began on Inauguration Day
Creating wide-sweeping legal protections for those who identify as trans has been a priority of the Biden administration since day one of his term as president. The latest iteration of his proposal for Title IX is seen as a “compromise,” as it allows schools to prohibit trans athletes if schools can make an argument that such a prohibition is to to promotoe fairness and to prevent injuries to other athletes. The proposal would still block blanket bans on trans athletes, however.
News Impacting Society and Children
4/13/23 - Germany plans legislation to block cyber-hate accounts
Another country aims to make an ambiguous law around “hate speech” online, very likely as a way to quash dissenting voices.
An update to this national embarassment.
4/13/23 - Man who refused to say he wasn’t pregnant not allowed to donate blood
There was a very similar story to this, also from the UK, last fall. More proof that gender zealots don’t actually prioritize health and wellness.
4/12/23 - Britain's 'implausible' transgender population may be result of confusing census question
Stonewall consulted with the Office of National Statistics in the UK to design a question that identified transgender people in the 2021 census. It seems that question may have caused confusion for non-native English speakers because they, rather implausibly, show five times the rate of transgenderism according to the results of the census survey.
4/10/23 - Maine mother sues school district over her teen’s gender transition
A mother is suing her child’s school district after staff encouraged the child to socially transition with a chest binder and a pronoun update. The argument here is that parents have a consitutional right to direct the healthcare and education of their children. The school, on the other hand, is arguing that they are guided by rules around confidentiality. Here is a similar story from the UK.
4/9/23 - School's transgender policy trumped teacher's religious rights, US court rules
A few months ago, when judges ruled in favor of a prisoner who argued on religious grounds that he should be able to refuse a strip search by a trans-identified female officer, I suggested that freedom of religion may be the one argument that trans lobbyists can’t beat. Well, looks I was wrong.
4/7/23 - Inslee signs bill to let transgender people seal name-change records
Washington state now allows transgender people who have legally changed their names to request that their records are sealed from the public. Trans Rights Activists believe their right to this kind of privacy is as important as domestic violence survivors, who were the original group to have this protection.
Beyond the West
4/9/23 - Iran installs cameras to find women not wearing hijab
In a move that the government seems to believe is an improvement, “smart” cameras are being set up in public places in Iran to catch women who are not wearing their hijabs. These women will then receive “warning texts” reminding them to wear their hijab or risk criminal charges.
Entertainment
Is Daniel Radcliffe going to “come out” as trans or something? He’s regularly in the headlines commenting on this issue, way more than others who starred alongside him in the Harry Potter movies.
…because the boycott of the game Hogwarts Legacy was so effective. /s
One of the most ironic thing about the ultra-woke is that their favorite character attack is to call dissenters “fascist” and “oppressive.” But, remind me, how do we refer to political powers that attempt to rewrite history to gaslight the public into beliving their ideology is and always has been a thing? It’s all so Orwellian.
