Way to go, Tennessee! And extra accolades for WoLF and Independent Women’s Voice!
Erasing Women and Women’s Spaces
This isn’t just erasing women, it’s also erasing LGB. The Adidas ad campaign is for Pride Month, and here is yet another example of how LGB-TQ celebration has just become another opportunity for the TQ to demand society grovel at their feet.
It is a relief that more and more women are not only speaking out but also given platform to be heard far and wide.
Nothing to see here. Just another obnoxious narcissistic autogynephilic man trying to force the world to indulge his debauched sexual fantasy that he can no longer separate from reality. Annoyingly, he has the support of politicans from the American Left. Don’t miss this response to the attempt to spread gender ideology to Japan.
Silencing Women and Their Allies
I think what we’re seeing here is a frog-in-boiling-water scenario play out: academics who have been skeptical about gender ideology all along were staying quiet with their criticisms, choosing the passive “be kind” route under the dangerous assumption that it’s no big deal to let people identify how they want. As woke ideologues have increasingly wielded censorship as a weapon to quash dissenting opinion, these academics are finally appreciating how dangerous such censorship is and how antithetical such censorhip is to the very spirit of academia. We can only hope that these frogs haven’t waited too long to hop out the pot.
5/12/23 - MP Joanna Cherry's Fringe show to go ahead after trans row
This is actually about the un-silencing of a woman. And in this case the group that attempted to censor MP Cherry not only backtracked but also apologized. It’s unfortunate that such acts of sanity are so shocking to us these days.
Sex Discrimination
5/16/23 - The women wearing ‘subway T-shirts’ over outfits to avoid creepy stares
Because, when you’re female, one of the things you have to consider when getting dressed is how your outfit might invite unwanted, aggressive attention from rando scrubs.
5/15/23 - What you need to know about a glass cliff and why it could put Twitter’s new CEO in danger
An interesting article about how, when a woman is given the rare opportunity to step into high-level leadership positions, it is often when there is a crisis, setting her up for failure.
A school district is facing backlash after punishing track-and-field players who showed up to practice in only their sports bras. The argument of the girls is that it isn’t fair that the boys team can practice shirtless when its hot out while the girls must stay covered. The school, on the other hand, argues that girls in sports bras would be too “distracting” for male coaches.
Reproductive Rights
5/16/23 - GOP Bill Could Hit Women Who Miscarry With Murder Charges, Advocates Say
Shit like this is why it’s hard not to argue that the conservative position on gender ideology exemplifies the expression, “even a broken clock is right twice a day.” They might be on the right side of history for that one single issue, but every other policy debate concerning women? No thank you.
Males in Female Sports
5/15/23 - Man stands alone at podium after cheating
Doubtful this has any impact on him since he obviously is incapable of feeling shame.
5/12/23, 5/15/23 - More sports that must contend with cheating men
Debate over rules around trans-identified men in women’s sports continues in rowing and now also shows up in disc golf.
News Impacting Society and Children
5/18/23 - James Esses exposes Childline
An organization that is meant to offer guidance to children in need of emotional support instead promotes gender ideology.
5/18/23 - Teachers walk tightropes in face of no trans guidance
It’s no wonder that the handling of gender ideology in English schools is such a clusterf*ck when there is no confirmed standard for how to approach the matter.
Today I learned that a “freedom” of information request is far from free.
5/15/23 - Democrats Help Republicans Ban Gender-Affirming Care for Transgender Kids
Harold Dutton, Tracy King and Shawn Thierry are the three brave souls who voted in favor of prohibiting medical transition for those under the age of 18.
5/15/23 - Threats against the LGBTQIA+ community intensifying: Department of Homeland Security
Here’s a good example of propaganda, an article that considers laws designed to prevent the sexualization of children to be “threats.”
5/14/23 - Damning report finds one in ten schoolchildren 'want to change their gender or have already done so'
This report comes out of England, where teens aged 16-18 were surveyed. Tell us again how this is definitely not social contagion?
5/14/23 - Florida teacher investigated by state for showing Disney cartoon movie in class
This incident is a debate around the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law in Florida. In short, a teacher showed Disney’s Strange World, a film with the first openly gay character, which a parent complained was not necessary and opened room for the teacher to start discussing sexual orientation and gender identity with students. There is so much gray area in this issue. On the one hand, media censorship is generally a bad thing. On the other hand, we fully understand why the parent is skeptical of the intentions of the teacher given the current political climate.
Beyond the West
The judge’s opinion: Roxana Ruiz, the victim, could have just hit her rapist on the head to render him unconscious rather than outright kill him.
5/11/23 - Chinese woman fighting for fertility rights hopes to end single mother stigma
Theresa Xu wants to normalize a woman choosing to freeze her eggs to wait to give birth until after she has established herself in life and career. In China, however, single motherhood is extremely stigmatized, and Xu was not allowed to freeze her eggs because she was not married. An ongoing lawsuit aims to change the law that precluded Xu and women in similar circumstances from egg-freezing.
Entertainment
If Trans Rights Activists get their way, lesbians and gender non-conforming will no longer exist in history.
There’s certainly something to be said about the problem with the sexual objectification of women on magazine covers. It’s also not great that there’s a hidden message here that older women should give a damn at all that they “look good.” But two things can be true at the same time, and we have to say that it is refreshing to see such a bold rejection of misogynistic ageism. This spread misses the mark on that last point, though, because of its continued sexual objectification of women, even as we age.
