School administrators at Northwest High School in Grand Island Nebraska shut down the school’s award-winning newspaper just days after it published an edition containing articles and editorials on LGBTQ issues.

8/23/22 A Rare Reversal on Gender Transition Policy
The American Academy of Pediatrics recently stated that the “vast majority of children” getting “gender-affirming care” shouldn’t be treated with hormones and surgery. The AP says children should be treated with “the opposite” of surgery and hormones.
8/23/2022 - Rantz: Despite ‘concerning’ transgender study, UW kept quiet because of positive coverage
UW Medicine issued a press release claiming that gender-affirming care “dramatically reduces” depression after a study shows the opposite. Fourth-year UW medical student Arin Collin and UW epidemiology Ph.D. candidate Diana Tordoff conducted a study of 104 transgender patients aged 13-20 for 1 year. The study made no such claims and showed that patients experienced virtually no improvement in mental health symptoms.
