Content informative BUT i detest the intrusion of AI in lieu of the emotive empathetic power of real oration ; the human voice- opportunities for hearing womens and mens vocal empathy; there is no substitute and this AI voicing and sort of sucking and subbing humans and our value is as witnessed failing the majority - Why ? No to BIG data no to BIG Brothet- and just cause it' is cheap, accessible, quick when it fails the communications' objective- Why displace humanity and sex with artifice no authentic -no more superceding and dubbing humanity for WEF profits
So let us explain: It is not easy to find video clips online. Often the news we share are only covered in obscure places, so our choices to original source are limited. We didn't make the video. If we show a video, it is because it is the best available and most informative we could find.
I think perhaps Ima is referring to the option that all Substack articles have to be read out loud - by an AI voice. It’s a great feature. But users need to know it’s just that - a feature - that article authors aren’t in control of.
Dear Katie, and the wonderful readers we have here, you are so thoughful to support Ima and me (and our team of writers) to understand what may be irksome to readers here. Yes, that AI voice reading is a boon for those who prefer to listen rather than read. And the built-in feature makes possible an audio file that we volunteers would struggle to provide.
I think Ima is probably referring to the AI narration at the start of the linked video that shows Celeste Diest at the Lucia Mar Unified School District board meeting. The video was not made by you and it's not difficult to fast-forward to the bit where Ms Diest speaks herself. THANK YOU Lila Jones for your brilliant articles (which are obviously [adult female] human-written) and collections.
Thank you @Sarah-Louise for clearing that up. Yes, readers can go back to our earliest posts and see we are writing in our own voices and with our own minds! And that we even make typos (proof positive).
I also dislike these "ai" clip edits that jump cut too fast and often put captions over the speaker's face.
