July 12, 2024 - Federal judge temporarily allows Carroll ISD to avoid changes to Title IX
A federal judge granted Carroll ISD a temporary injunction in its lawsuit to block new Title IX changes from going into effect. In his ruling, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas Reed O’Connor said the Biden administration’s rule extending protections to LGBTQ+ students and banning discrimination based on gender identity is “likely unlawful” and “risks irreparable harm to Carroll ISD.” “Oral argument made clear that the Final Rule functionally displaces the statutory language 'on the basis of sex' with 'on the basis of gender identity.' Despite repeatedly stressing that no redefinition of sex exists in the Final Rule, in the same breath Defendants claim there is no material way to distinguish between sex and gender identity." O’Connor concluded that “Carroll ISD is substantially likely to prevail on the merits” of the suit, based on conclusions of similar cases in other courts. He requested additional briefings by July 18.

July 17, 2024 - Clinic that pressured parents into sex change care for their trans kids shutters in 'huge win' for child safety
A Missouri clinic that pressured parents into letting their kids undergo risky sex change procedures has closed in what officials hail as a 'huge win' for child safety in the state. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey on Tuesday said the clinic had 'mutilated' too many kids and that its closure was a 'major step' toward halting controversial sex change procedures. The Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital closed last week, following an outcry over claims that doctors there pushed puberty blockers and other procedures on minors.
However, another report states that the clinic merely closed in Missouri and moved to a different state to continue services.
July 17, 2024 - ‘Baby Reindeer’ Star Nava Mau Makes Emmy History With Supporting Actress Nomination
Nava Mau, a male actor who identifies as a woman, has been nominated for an award set aside for women, best supporting actress. Emmy’s and Oscars created female categories to recognize women in an industry where men’s achievements are recognized disproportionately more often than women’s. For a man who pretends to be a woman to even be considered for a woman’s award unfairly undermines women actors work. Men already get most of the awards. Nava Mau is man and should be nominated in men’s categories. Otherwise the academy’s should create a transgender category so that women are not forced to give up recognition to men.
July 17, 2024 - Transgender Killer Housed in Women’s Prison Loses “Discrimination” Suit After Complaining About Security Risk Status
A convicted killer sued the state of Kansas Department of Corrections for discrimination when they denied him a transfer to the general population of a women’s prison. His lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge. He is currently housed in isolation, for safety, in a women’s prison. He demanded his status of “other security risk” be removed. Lamb was designated a security risk just two months after being transferred into the women’s prison January 2023.
July 16, 2024 - Women-only jobs can exclude trans women, equality watchdog rules
In the UK companies supposedly have the right to block men from being hired for jobs set aside specifically for women. Companies can legally hire only women for jobs specifically set aside for women and exclude men. However, if a man who claims or pretends to be a woman has a gender recognition certificate, then the companies can hire him because the law considers him a woman. So this declaration changes nothing. Men are still able to steal jobs from women IF they get the government-sanctioned certificate stating that they have changed their sex from male to female, an impossible thing to do.
July 15, 2024 - UK woman man, 35, 'tries to rape another female British tourist, 20, in bar toilets' on Greek island of Rhodes
A UK man has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a younger British woman in a bar toilet on the Greek island of Rhodes. The press keeps referring to this male perpetrator as a woman because he calls himself a woman. The man followed a 20-year-old woman into the women’s toilet of a bar in Lalysos. The victim said the man tried to force unwelcome sexual attention on her while in the women’s toilet. The victim gave the police her underwear to test for evidence.

July 18, 2024 - Domestic violence perpetrators could be tracked by specialised agency, Australian crime institute says
Domestic violence perpetrators should be treated like “fixated persons”, similar to violent extremists and stalkers targeting politicians, according to an expert government body tasked with seeking a solution to the intimate partner homicide crisis. The Australian Institute of Criminology has delivered a report to the attorney general, Mark Dreyfus, suggesting a trial of a Domestic Violence Threat Assessment Centre, which could gather intelligence, monitor individuals and intervene against those at high risk of carrying out a homicide.
A man who subjected his wife to shocking abuse and made her '…a prisoner in her own home' has been sentenced to over two years in prison at Peterborough Crown Court. Murtaza Syed, 47, coercively controlled his wife and humiliated, degraded, and dehumanized her over two years. He did not let her shut the bathroom door and examined her body for marks indicating that she had cheated. He did not allow her to leave the house without his permission, took away her cell phone, and prevented her from using any device she could use to contact help. Eventually, she found a way to call for help, police came to her home and later arrested her husband.
July 12, 2024 - How Hmong women in Wisconsin are tackling domestic violence in their communities
A women-led movement is pushing back against patriarchal attitudes and offering support to survivors of domestic violence. Monica Lo has spent the last six years as an advocate and program coordinator for The Women’s Community, is among Hmong women who have spent years pushing back against attitudes that prevent women from reporting abuse and leaving violent relationships. That includes offering safe housing, counseling and more representation in mediation processes that typically precede a divorce sanctioned by Hmong leaders. The women are also speaking out in an ongoing debate about the role patriarchal attitudes play in shaping scenarios that can prove deadly.

July 18, 2024 - Kansas won’t force providers to ask patients why they want abortions while a lawsuit proceeds
Kansas isn’t enforcing a new law requiring abortion providers to ask patients why they want to terminate their pregnancies, as a legal challenge against that rule and other older requirements makes its way through the courts. Kansas doesn’t ban most abortions until the 22nd week of pregnancy. Its clinics now see thousands of patients from other states with near bans on abortion, most notably Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Kansas protects women’s right to abortion in its state constitution.
July 17, 2024 - Republicans put abortion disagreements aside at 'unity' convention
Recently Republicans have retreated from statements about imposing a nationwide abortion ban. At the RNC many, including Trump said that the issue should be left to the states. This retreat from the stated effort to impose a federal ban is being labeled as a unity measure in the Republican party to end internal divisiveness. It may also be a toning down of the extreme views to attract women who typically vote democratic who are dissatisfied by their current treatment of women. Polls suggest that most Americans, including Republicans support women’s access to abortion. Opinions vary on what that access looks like and when it should be denied. The Republican party recently edited it’s platform statements on abortion cutting it down from 775 words to 90 words.
July 17, 2024 - JD Vance said in 2022 he ‘would like abortion to be illegal nationally’
Former President Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, said two-and-a-half years ago he was open to a national abortion ban, a stark contrast to comments he made this week where the Ohio senator said he adhered to Trump’s view that abortion should be a state issue. Vance argued in 2022 that people seeking abortions would travel from states where abortion is banned to states with liberal abortion laws, necessitating federal action. “I certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally,” Vance said in January 2022 on a podcast when running for Senate.
July 16, 2024 - Arkansas is sued for rejecting petitions on an abortion-rights ballot measure
Arkansas is being sued for rejecting petitions in favor of a proposed ballot measure to scale back the state’s abortion ban, with supporters asking the state Supreme Court on Tuesday to order officials to start counting more than 100,000 signatures from people who back amending the constitution.

July 19, 2024 - Independent report Review of suicides and gender dysphoria at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust: independent report
Summary of conclusions:
The data do not support the claim that there has been a large rise in suicide in young gender dysphoria patients at the Tavistock.
The way that this issue has been discussed on social media has been insensitive, distressing and dangerous, and goes against guidance on safe reporting of suicide.
The claims that have been placed in the public domain do not meet basic standards for statistical evidence.
There is a need to move away from the perception that puberty-blocking drugs are the main marker of non-judgemental acceptance in this area of health care.
We need to ensure high quality data in which everyone has confidence, as the basis of improved safety for this at risk group of young people.
John Deere, a company that manufactures agriculture machinery, heavy equipment, lawn equipment, diesel engines and more, has retreated from DEI initiatives. Tractor maker John Deere has backed down from its DEI initiatives after facing substantial criticism from conservatives online. John Deere released a post on X stating that they revised their corporate guidelines to focus on supporting the business and brand after getting feedback from customers and employees. They will no longer participate in or support external social or cultural awareness parades, festivals or events. They will audit their mandatory company training materials and policies to remove any socially motivated messages while remaining in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
July 17, 2024 - Wolf Files Amicus Brief In Potential Landmark Employment Case
On Wednesday, WoLF submitted an Amicus Brief to the 7th Circuit in support of an orchestra teacher who was forced to resign in 2018 over transgender policies at Brownsburg High School in Indiana.
July 17, 2024 - Chino Valley school district sues Gov. Newsom over California's new gender-identity law
A San Bernardino County school district involved in an ongoing legal battle with the state over the district's gender-identity policy sued Gov. Gavin Newsom Tuesday over a new law banning districts from requiring that parents be notified of their child's gender identification change. The Chino Valley Unified School District and a handful of parents argued the law violates the rights of parents protected under the U.S. Constitution. "School officials do not have the right to keep secrets from parents, but parents do have a constitutional right to know what their minor children are doing at school," Emily Rae, a lawyer representing the district, said in a statement.
July 17, 2024 - Biden administration clarifies stance on surgeries for trans minors after backlash
The Biden administration Department of Justice has been urging the Supreme Court to take up the case of a Tennessee law that bans all gender transition medical treatment for minors, claiming it is discriminatory. However, a mixed message has leaked out from a White House spokesperson who told news outlets that “these surgeries should be limited to adults.” In response the White House is doubling down on its support of minors receiving transgender medical treatment while claiming surgeries are rare.
July 16, 2024 - Why are British doctors voting to reject the Cass report? A motion to 'disavow' the Review is being considered by members of the BMA.
Money. Doctors were making a lot of profits on butchering the healthy body parts of emotionally distressed girls, women, boys and men.
For an official medical organisation to even consider rejecting one of the most in-depth, evidence-based reviews of an area of healthcare ever undertaken, by one of the most respected and experienced doctors in the country, might seem extraordinary. But this is gender medicine. And the question is how best to care for often deeply distressed, gender-questioning children and young people. The normal rules don’t apply. The New Statesman can reveal that tomorrow (Wednesday July 17) the governing body of the British Medical Association (BMA) – the doctors’ trade union – will vote on whether or not to “disavow” the Cass Review.
July 15, 2024 - California is 1st state to ban school rules requiring parents get notified of child’s pronoun change
California is leading the way in undermining parents rights to know what the school is doing to their children. The law bans rules requiring school staff to disclose a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation to any other person without the child’s permission. Proponents of the legislation say it will help protect LGBTQ+ students who live in unwelcoming households. But opponents say it will hinder schools’ ability to be more transparent with parents.
July 15, 2024 - Labour to ban conversion therapy in King’s Speech despite fears for parents
Conversion therapy will be banned under a new law to be announced in the King’s Speech. Labour pledged a full, “trans-inclusive” ban on conversion therapy in its manifesto, despite concerns that such a move could stifle legitimate conversations between parents and gender-questioning children.
The risk to therapists, parents and children with this law will be that affirming gender confusion will be the only acceptable approach.
July 15, 2024 - Testosterone prescriptions for women soar
The number of females in Scotland being prescribed testosterone has soared over the past decade thanks to a sharp rise in girls taking the male sex hormone. Experts are concerned by the increase, which includes a surge in young females seeking to change gender. The number of testosterone-related items given to women aged 20 to 29 was almost 50 times higher last year compared with 2013, according to Scottish NHS figures.
July 13, 2024 - There is no fundamental right to change one's sex in birth certificates, federal appeals court rules
“There is no fundamental right to a birth certificate recording gender identity instead of biological sex,” 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Jeffrey Sutton wrote for the majority in the decision upholding a 2023 district court ruling. The case was brought by four men who identify as opposite sex gender in Tennessee. Tennessee birth certificates reflect the sex assigned at birth, and that information is used for statistical and epidemiological activities that inform the provision of health services throughout the country, Sutton wrote. “How it’s worth asking, could a government keep uniform records of any sort if the disparate views of its citizens about shifting norms in society controlled the government’s choices of language and of what information to collect?”
Is it a surprise that a religious organization is teaching religious ideology? Church of England advice for teachers has been criticised for pushing the gender ideology that a person's sex is 'assigned' at birth rather than a biological fact. Guidance set to be issued to thousands of schools states that a transgender man is someone 'who was assigned female at birth but identifies and lives as a man', and a transgender woman 'was assigned male at birth but identifies and lives as a woman'.

July 18, 2024 - Stephen King Corrects J.K. Rowling in Viral Message
JK Rowling said “Whatever the square root of not giving a fuck is, that's where I am.” Square root of fucks to give = √FTG. Stephen King, while attempting to correct JK Rowling’s math in how many fucks she has left to give, suggested she meant FTG squared. That would mean she has more fucks to give than less. Kings math is wrong because fucks to give squared is greater than the square root of fucks to give, (FTG2) ≥ √FTG.
JR Rowling waded into a Labour row over puberty blockers for children today as she defended the new Health Secretary's decision to keep a Tory ban on their use. Mr Streeting spoke out yesterday to defend his actions, saying he was 'treading cautiously' because the long-term impact on young people taking the drugs is unclear. In a social media thread he warned: 'We don't yet know the risks of stopping pubertal hormones at this critical life stage.

Thanks for another great set of links -- keeping your ear to the ground, your finger on the pulse. 🙂 And for the archive links.
But while I appreciate that you're often quoting other sources, you might consider editing them somewhat, the Daily Mail article in particular which talks about "sex changes". Which is, as you put it, flat-out impossible. The phrase should be bracketed with 24-point scare quotes and further qualified with "AKA, sterilization and castration of autistic and dysphoric children". Truth in advertising ...
Though the Church of England has something of a point -- if a dude wants to "live as a male transvestite" then I guess he should be allowed to do so. But that should not in any way open the door to claims that he has changed sex and should be treated, socially or in law, as if he had done so. Crossing the Rubicon into crazy town.
But the response to the CoE positions is almost as clueless and scientifically illiterate as those peddled by various transloonie nutcases:
"Lucy Marsh, of the Family Education Trust, said: 'It is extremely concerning that the Church of England does not recognise that biological sex is immutable. Sex is not 'assigned at birth', it is determined at conception and recorded at birth. These are biological, unchangeable facts.' ..."
Unmitigated horse crap, politically motivated dogma, "scientific" howlers, and pretentious articles of faith. By standard biological definitions, the sexes are most certainly not "immutable", and technically we don't ACQUIRE a "sex category membership card" until the onset of puberty and can have those "cards revoked" anytime thereafter -- for example, transwomen who cut their nuts off turn themselves into sexLESS eunuchs. Hardly "immutable 🙄".
