4 Dec. 2024 - United States v. Skrmetti heard at U.S. Supreme Court
The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on Wednesday over whether Tennessee can ban some medical treatments for youth wishing to change their sex. A decision is not expected until June, but comments from the Court’s conservative majority justices indicated they will be inclined to uphold the law. The plaintiffs said the law violated the Constitution by denying equal protection to transgender people, but Tennessee’s solicitor general, J. Matthew Rice, argued that the law was passed for medical purposes. Comments from the justices appeared to agree that the law did not constitute sex discrimination, including:
Justice Amy Coney Barrett: “The burdens of the law fall equally on boys and girls, because neither can transition.”
Justice Kavanaugh: “England’s pulling back and Sweden’s pulling back… It strikes me as a pretty heavy yellow light if not red light for this court to come in, the nine of us, and constitutionalize the whole area when the rest of the world, or at least the countries that have been at the forefront of this, are pumping the brakes.”

In a story about women’s college volleyball teams forfeiting games against San Jose State University, the New York Times felt clarity about testosterone levels would best be achieved by making ‘transwomen’ the default by which to reference ‘other’ women — thus the bananas insulting term “non-transgender women” was puked onto the page.
Said Navratilova: “We are women, not NOT TRANSGENDER WOMEN. Just WOMEN will do in the future.”

Now the mother of trans-identifying male rapist, “Isla Bryson”, has publically stated she knows her son was born, is now, and always will be, MALE. Janet Bryson said, “I believe you have to be born female to be female. No wigs, dresses or amount of make-up makes you female. You can say you're a woman, but to be female, that is down to biology and how you are born.” Ms. Bryson made these comments as she works with For Women Scotland in arguing to the Supreme Court that sex is immutable and cannot be changed by gender recognition certificates.

Powerlifting (USAPL) had clarified their position about athletes claiming transgender status, and that Jaycee could not take part in women’s competitions. USAPL stated, “Identifying as one sex does not defy the factual physical differences between sexes that exist regardless of sex reassignment or hormone suppression… The assertion of gender choice, although legal to change in parts of the world, does not erase the dimorphic differences of sex, formalized at birth and continually developing throughout the lifespan, that have direct implications to performance advantages.” Jaycee’s oral argument was heard on December 3rd.

We are inundated with new and bizarre forms of woman-hate these days - from extreme violence pornography to the attempted erasure of being-woman entirely. Thanks Eileen. This is almost a 'joyful' read! I'm from Dutch descend but I've never heard of that weird 'women beating' event on that Frisian/German island. A well kept secret. Beating women for entertainment since the early 1800! I remember learning children's songs at primary school that also had 'wife beating' in it. The HIStory of violence against women goes back for millennia! Marilyn French's 4 volume series of books, her life work; The History of Women of the World, starts in pre-historic times. She describes in detail how in all cultures and continents, women's uprisings are continuously suppressed. She also highlights places/countries where women once ruled. A hard read but a must read since no one ever mentions Marilyn's important record of historical patriarchal misogyny and violent oppression of women. 'Transgenderism' is just another variety of this!
